Description
Organic Chlorogenic Acid (CGA) 24% is a naturally occurring polyphenol found in small amounts in fruits and vegetables, including green coffee beans. In fact, test results has shown that green coffee bean contains more than twice the rate of oxygen radical absorbance capability when compared to green tea and grape seed extracts. One key benefit of CGA is that it is a great agent for absorbing free oxygen radicals and averting hydroxyl radicals.
Function
- Antioxidant. Chlorogenic acid is a potent antioxidant that helps neutralize free radicals in the body. The antioxidant activity contributes to reducing oxidative stress and protecting cells from damage, potentially lowering the risk of chronic diseases associated with inflammation and oxidative damage.
- Blood Sugar. Some studies suggest that chlorogenic acid may have a positive impact on blood sugar levels. It may help regulate blood glucose by inhibiting the absorption of it from the digestive tract and by improving ins sensitivity. This makes it of interest in managing blood sugar levels, which is particularly beneficial for people at risk.
- Weight. Chlorogenic acid has been investigated for its potential role in managing weight. Some studies suggest it may help to reduce weight and fat accumulation by influencing the absorption of carbohydrates from the digestive tract and promoting the metabolism of fatty acids.
- Heart. Studies suggest that it may help lower blood pressure by promoting relaxation of blood vessels. CGA may also influence health by reducing LDL (bad) cholesterol and increasing HDL. The antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties in turn contribute to overall health by reducing risk factors.
- Anti-Inflammatory. Chlorogenic acid has demonstrated anti-inflammatory effects, which may be beneficial in managing conditions associated with chronic inflammation. By modulating the inflammatory response, chlorogenic acid may contribute to reducing overall inflammation in the body.
- Liver. Some research indicates that chlorogenic acid may have potential hepatoprotective effects. This may help to protect the liver from damage.
- Cognition. Chlorogenic acid has been explored for its potential cognitive benefits. It may have neuroprotective effects, helping to protect the brain from oxidative stress and inflammation.
- Digestion. Chlorogenic acid may have a positive impact on gastrointestinal health and it has been studied for its potential prebiotic effects, promoting the growth of beneficial gut bacteria. A healthy gut microbiome is associated with various aspects of overall well-being.
- Antibacterial and Antifungal. CGA has antibacterial and antifungal properties, which may help protect against infections caused by certain bacteria and fungi.
