Organic Boswellia Serrata Extract* – also called Olibanum – an aromatic resin obtained from trees that is known as Indian Frankincense, Olibanum, Dhup, Sallaki and Salai Guggul. The sap, or resin, of the  plant contain special compounds that have been found to have strong anti-inflammatory effects.

There are numerous species and varieties of frankincense trees, each producing a slightly different type of resin. Differences in soil and climate create even more diversity of the resin, even within the same species. The trees are also considered unusual for their ability to grow in environments so unforgiving that they sometimes seem to grow directly out of solid rock. The trees start producing resin when they are about 8 to 10 years old. Tapping is done 2 to 3 times a year with the final taps producing the best drops due to their higher aromatic terpene, sesquiterpene and diterpene content.

Long before inflammation-lowering supplements existed, organic boswellia serrata powder bulk derived from the serrata tree were used for inflammatory conditions and to boost metabolism. Modern studies have shown that boswellic acids have a strong anti-inflammatory effects, much like the conventional anti-inflammatory pain medication. However, while the boswellia inhibits pro-inflammatory mediators, the long-term use of it does not lead to stomach conditions.

Function

1. Anti-Inflammatory. One of the most well-known benefits of boswellia serrata resin is its anti-inflammatory properties. The boswellic acids have been shown to inhibit the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines, which can help reduce inflammation throughout the body. This can be especially beneficial for people with chronic inflammatory conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and inflammatory bowel disease.
2. Pain Relief. Boswellia serrata extract has also been shown to have analgesic properties, meaning it can help relieve pain. This is likely due to its ability to reduce inflammation, which is a common cause of pain in many conditions.
3. Joint Health. Several studies have found that organic boswellia serrata can help improve joint health in people with osteoarthritis. One study found that a supplement containing Boswellia serrata extract was able to reduce pain and improve physical function in people with knee osteoarthritis.
4. Respiratory Health. Boswellia has been used in traditional medicine to treat respiratory conditions such as asthma and bronchitis. Some studies have found that it may be effective in reducing symptoms and improving lung function in people with these conditions.
5. Anti-Cancer Potential. Some studies have suggested that Boswellia serrata may have anti-cancer properties. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of certain cancer cells, including breast, colon, and prostate cancer cells. However, more research is needed to confirm these findings.

Suggested use

As a dietary supplement, take 500 mg  to 1,500 mg preferably before meals.

Ingredients

Organic Boswellia Serrata Extract (Indian Frankincense). Boswellia Carterii (Frankincense) may also be used. Up to 20 times stronger concentrate. The appearance of the compound of a pale yellow-white powder. Store in cool and dry place and avoid light and heat.
